The West Africa Agriculture Productivity Programme (WAAPP) Sierra Leone has been rated “satisfactory” by the World Bank at a regional wrap up summit in Ghana.
This is the highest rating in the score sheet of the World Bank with regards the implementation of WAAPP at the country level. The rating is pegged at the achievement of key deliverables set by the Bank, the project and its partners in the previous country support mission which is held half yearly.
The wrap up summit which was held from the 15th to the 19th of May in Accra, Ghana looked at activities undertaken by the thirteen countries implementing the programme. Each country made a presentation on activities in the period under review after which key indicative outcomes were analyzed by project components before a judgment based on projects performance was made. Sierra Leone’s performance and achievements were seen as quite remarkable, as the country has successively maintained this rating over a period of time, giving an indication of a strong team that oversees it implementation.
